Acer announce their new 3440x1600 XR382CQK bmijqphuzx FreeSync Display

Is this the same panel as the LG 38UC99? This has a slightly better Freesync range it seems.
what's with the name though?!?

There are similar displays, though this lists 100% sRGB coverage rather than 99% and comes with VESA mount support.

FreeSync range changes from 52-75 on the LG 38UC99 to 48-75 on the iuobgdsrpiugbgub9ugr (seriously did Acer just randomly type to make that model name?)

This new display is now significantly thinner and comes with a different backlight.

The LG 38UC99 is an 8-bit panel with 10-bit dithering, with this new model stating support for 1.07 Billion Colors (10-bit), though it is unclear if this is dithered or proper 10-bit.

This monitor is pure beauty. Same again Acer nail the design.

IMO the ASUS Swift looks ugly compared to this (which i'm talking about the stand) god that stand looks god awful.

It will almost certainly be the same panel as this is the only known 38" that exists, so still 8-bit + FRC. Such panels are still said to support 1.07 billion colours, so that distinction does not equal 10-bit.

Each to their own... I don't like it at all and it weights alot. Plus it makes the monitor be like 20cm more towards you on your desk, than it "has" to, so to speak.

VESA mounting has you covered there. I like the stand. To hold that much weight you need something substantial. Although I do like the new Asus with the wireless charging stand except that you can't remove it and wall mount it. Why not both??
