A64 Mobile and prommie mounting woes

Right got a A64 mobile chip and got it mounted under me prommie. Trouble is the evap head doesnt quite reach the core fully due to it having no heat spreader. Im using loads of washers (about 15 on each) and the contact isnt enough. Evap temp is -70 and CPU reading is 30c, thats at 1Ghz. Any load then the temps go sky high.

Do i need to use a shim? or do i need to mod the mounting kit? or are there any other solutions out there?

thats the problem with the mobile cpu, you need to mod the mounting kit, i guess you can shave off the legs off the front mounting bracket.

Was just looking at my spare bracket and thought the same. Thanks for the reply, will give it a try over the weekend
