A Hello from me!

Hi all,

I've just joined as I'm about to embark on my first PC Build as my Vaio laptop is due to retire from the hammering it's got for about 3 years now!

I'm going back to the old desktop setup and I thought I'd join this community as I've viewed a few reviews and I've been loitering around the old forums and you seem like a great bunch!

Well, there's my hello.. and I'll now go and find the relevant spot to post my progress with component choices so far!

Like you'd never believe! What I'm having to cope with atm is horrible! My other half has a PC that looks more like something from space! It's all watercooled and built for extreme gaming. Then I go into the front room from his studio and I have to use a laptop that has Pentium m 740 1.73ghz 80gb hdd and 512 ram.. it would also be a great alternative to gas central heating!

I'm being donated the 'media' PC we have spare (just needs a couple of additions to make half decent..), until I have bought all the parts for my own PC!

Roll on payday!

My girlfriend has pretty much the same specced lappy as that. It's an Inspiron 6000 and I only upgraded it over this weekend for her to a 2.13GHz M770 with some better thermal paste than Dell would use. Fastest it would take as far as I know. Also slapped in 2GB RAM.

Don't I know it.. I'm only ever able to talk to blokes about PC's.. all I hear at work is women harping on about shoes. Gah!
