Hi guys,

I'm looking at doing a few upgrades for my pc just wanted to know it i should bother.

I have ATM:

H100 with 2x Noctua NF-F12
Cooler Master Fans 200mm(Side) 230mm(Front)

What i want to do is replace the above parts with:
Noctua NH-D15
BitFenix Spectre Pro 200mm and 230mm

Then just sell of the H100 along with the other stuff.

Check out the oc3d review of the NH-D15 here http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/cases_cooling/noctua_nh-d15_review/1

You want to go from one cooler to another when their performance is in the same ballpark? I don't see the point, honestly. Why bother?

Isn't the Noctua NH-D15 an air cooler?... and you want to go that route from the H100, which is an AIO?. I don't really see the point here?...

i just get a high pitch noise from the pump at least i think it is... i found that its a 5 year warranty anyway so i should be able to RMA it.

They likely will not swap the unit for a whine coming from the pump. That's pretty average with computer water coolers and cheap pumps. Just get the NHD15. It can't leak, no pumps to jam, no hose to kink. No radiator to worry about.

That's pretty false. They will swap the unit because a whining pump is not a fully working unit.

OP if you are having an issue with the H100, start a new thread in the Corsair Support section and await for Grey_Beards(he is the OC3D official Corsair Rep) response and he can personally help and advise you on what to do.

Living up to your name again

My name is a joke. I am a computer technician by trade, which I imagine you are not.
Pump noise, either in the form of a buzz, hum, or whine, is common. I have seen AIO/ALC's leak and suffer from jammed pumps. It's not worth it IMO with coolers like the D15 available.

BTW I'm not the guy running 1066Mhz RAM (I can hear 2006 calling your name) with my 4670K, which could easily take 2400Mhz RAM.

FYI that is defined as a faulty pump. Disagree all you want however I've had AIOs replaced for those "common" issues and had support agree they were faulty for being to noisy.

How come you want to swap from a AIO to the mother of all air coolers? Is it a noise problem?
Sure, the Noctua will be quieter and gives great performance, but boy you won't want to be moving that case around much with such a huge chunk of metal attached to it.

RMA the H100 - I had mine done and it was no problem however it did take a week or so of being back on the stock cooler.

I wouldn't like to sell dodgy or suspect parts to some unsuspecting person. Unless of course you're advertising it as the special whine edition. ;)

If the H100 is a bit old you could always upgrade to a newer AIO and then sell the RMA replacement they ship back to you.

Good luck :)

If you bother to click on my banner you would see i'm using 2133Mhz memory but i'm guessing you didn't even bother clicking on it.

I don't understand why people make joke names up for.

On Topic:

If the H100 is playing up just RMA it and get the replacement try and sell it and put the money towards a H100iGTX or if you have the room a H110iGT this is one way you can go.
