My 11400F on a Z590 board (so overclocks itself to 4.2+ ghz always) cost me £113 many months ago. I would bet it is faster than the 5700x in gaming, too.

The great thing about the 5800X3D is its efficiency. The 5900X is a hotter, more power-hungry chip. It's not worth it for those that game for many hours.

I'd happily take efficiency over more cores these days. I honestly dont see much gain at all in the CPU segment as you do with GPUs. And I doubt bottlenecking would be an issue if choosing between the two.
