900D vs 750D?

Hey guys,

I am currently running two MSI 780 ti gaming cards in my 900D. I was at a stage planning on doing it all under water but don't really have the cash anymore.

I currently have a 900D chassis with 3 of the stock 900D fans pulling in air from the front; a push/pull configuration for my closed loop CPU cooler exhausting air and a 140mm rear exhausting air.

Due to me not needing all the water capabilities that the 900D provides I was thinking about selling it and getting some thing like the 750D, due to the chassis being a bit smaller to me I would assume that the fans have less air to push around in the case. The 900D is a mammoth of a case and there are a lot of airless places where warm air can just sit. The front fans are a lot closer to the graphics cards which would help push the warm away faster. This is all what I think, I don't actually know for sure.

I have been looking at my temperatures recently and my top card is almost double in temperature. I know these temperatures are not that bad, but for me to downgrade to a 750D I would be saving money and in turn hopefully getting slightly better temps.... hopefully.

In game:
Top Card - 30 deg.
Bottom Card - 55 deg.

Idle:
Top Card - 25 deg.
Bottom Card - 38 deg.

My question is, if I down grade to a 750D will I see better temperatures in my graphics cards due to the front fans being closer pushing the warm air away from my two cards or will I not see any improvement and should I just stay with my 900D.

Any recommendations and/or opinions will be appreciated.

Cheers

I'm curious, how are you getting 30 degrees... on air?

To me there's nothing wrong with those temps if they're both on air..

Is this a good surprise or a bad surprise?

I was constantly checking my temps yesterday, my bottom card some times went as low as 23 deg. I dont live in the snow or anything :P - I am just really confused why the card above is so much hotter, yes I understand that it is getting the heat off the bottom card but really?? that much hotter?

What's your opinion on moving to a 750? Will it be better?

I think what he's saying is 30 degrees under load for an air cooled card is extremely low, that card should be running in the mid 70's! Something isn't right there

TBH its hopping around 30 deg, not sitting there.

Although I might not remember the temps exactly what I do remember is that the temperature of the top card was always almost double. I just want to know that if I got to the 750D will the better airflow in the case benefit me?

Either that's a pathetic game or you don't have SLI enabled, the top card clearly isn't doing anything at all. I wouldn't expect to see any appreciable difference between the 750D and 900D for air cooling temps it's really down to practicality and aesthetics assuming you will use the same fans.

yea there's no way you're taxing that card if it's only at 30 degrees loaded, either that or your SLi is off/not running/incompatible with the game you're playing

I was playing Battlefield 4 (64 player server).

When I go into the nvidia control panel I have the SLI 3D thing enabled, and below the cards it says SLI enabled. Unless I am doing some thing horribly wrong. I am also obviously running a SLI cable on my cards.

i've had the 750D for a few months and hated it, i sold it and got a switch 810 never been happier with a case :)

What did you specifically hate about it?

when i moved the HDD cage over towards the psu the HDD tray front plastic part where you want to remove the HDD scratched the window, the front panel made a rattling sound as well as the window side panel also the psu dust filter made the same sound if i had it in...

Don't bother with case changes until you get those temps sorted out. 30 C under load is WAY too cool. Something must be wrong.
