CPU I5 750 4ghz

GPU 5850 900/1250

Mobo Foxconn Inferno Katana

HDD WD Green 1tb 64mb cache

RAM 4gb Kingston HyperX 1600 8-9-8-24

PSU 600w OCZ stealthxstream 2

Case NZXT M59 very lightly modded

The only improvement performance wise £90 will get you is a SSD. The only other things that would improve performance are a new GPU or CPU but to upgrade your CPU you would need a new mobo and the only GPUs worth upgrading from a 5850 to are a 560 ti or a 6950.

yup as I suspected and Sieb confirms it get an SSD bro you'll be happy pls you might even think you have a new rig

Hi,

Can a sufficiently large SSD be bought for that price? For me at least 120gb is the minimum I'd want for OS and games.

Personally I'd look at another 4gb of ram...4gb wasn't enough on my old build, so I went for 8gb right away on my new. Depends what the PC is used for of course.

Maybe a better CPU cooler (not sure what you have at the mo) for some additional over clocking goodness.

The above two should be doable for £90.

Scoob.

Will it ever reach those speeds though? if I got a mobo that supported SATA 3 in the future?

Natashaful: Is the deluxe really worth the extra money from what i can tell it's only 10mb/s faster read, I would just get two of the normals and Raid 0 them

From Mushkin Nick:

Ok, so the short-and-skinny is that the Deluxe drive uses Sync/Toggle NAND and the non-Deluxe is Asynch.

What this means is that the Deluxe will handle truly random (read: Incompressible) data much faster than the non-Deluxe drive. I believe the sustained write on the non-Deluxe with with true random data is around 250MB/s whereas the Deluxe will stay at the max rated spec sustained.

If you are dealing with lots of HD Video/Audio files, go with the Deluxe. Over the course of a year you will save enough time to justify the price difference several times over.

That makes me think otherwise

well truefully I grabbed the first ssd I saw under l90 for ya and knowing muskins dependability I went with it I did not research it thru kinda figured you would and you are
