I bought 1 single 8gb 1866 RAM thinking it would down clock to 1333.
However before I even reach the bios my PC is restarting and I don't know why :/

My Motherboard is a p7h55-LX...

I was told it would work perfectly fine in my system.
I got it because it was a great offer, I've been after some white sticks for some time.
What to do? can I get it working?

Gonna need some more info mate.
1) do you just have the 8GB stick installed?
2) if you have another stick, what DIMM slots are populated?

Well, my friend, it looks like you might just have yourself a dead stick of RAM. I'd wait for someone else to post before returning however I'm quite certain an RMA is necessary.

o_0, I've never ordered anything dead before.
So 1866 should run on my Mobo then?
I don't want to return it for a new one only for that not to work either.

The memory tries to set itself up at 1866mhz and it simply cant. (that's why asus has one of those memok buttons on the newer motherboards

Ok guys, thanks for the help but I still need your assistance...
I sent it back and ordered a 1x8gb stick at 1333mhz
It came to day, guess what...
Yep same thing. Its restarting on the bios screen.

Also I just noticed the 2x2gb sticks I have already are 1600mhz anyway and they work just fine even though my mobo specs state 1333/1066

I have a final theory but I'm baffled as to why it wouldn't be stated in the manual.
Each of my two slots could support a maximum of 4gb with an overall mobo limit of 8gb?
I really don't want to order 2x4gb to be stuck with the same problem.
Should I order 2x4gb at 1866mhz, 1600mhz or 1333mhz? Because if my current 1600mhz work then 1866 should too rite? If they're the same price I don't see why not if that's not the problem. But at the same time I don't want it to arrive and not work. I really don't want to send it back for a third time.

I don't know much about your motherboard, and searching didn't turn up much information.

I agree with demonking in that your motherboard likely doesn't support more than 4GB per channel.
