I am wanting to get one of these new cards that everyone seems to like, however i am unsure as to which card to buy.so far from reading various reviews i am torn between the xfx xxx edition and the evga superclocked.

so which one is the better card?

As far as I'm aware all the cards currently available are all made in the same factory to the same spec, the only difference being the BIOS installed. I doubt that there will be much difference in performance between the card over all.

Get the XFX one.. Good warranty, good tech support and the alpha dog 'XXX' edition is faster than the EVGA 'Superclocked' one.

But you could always buy a stock one and clock it yourself.. But personally ide take the XFX one.

Thought the EVGA has the 'step-up' thing.. dont know if thats valid in europe?

I`d only say XFX cos I`m biased, but the guyz mention some good points too.

I doubt u`d be upset with either one tho tbh.

i am biased towards evga having had two of there cards in the past, but have heard a lot of good things about xfx.the other problem is that no-one seems to have any in stock at the moment.

whichever one i find in stock today will decide the issue, seeing as there seems to be a shortage of these cards everywhere

Off the top of my head from warehousing experience. Mondays and thurdays are big delivery days. Loosely based around peoples wanting to do **** all on fridays.

So best stock check times could be Monday/Thursday pms - but I have no doubt that like myself u`ll be checking everyday :p

I'd go for the one with the best warranty, as both XFX and EVGA are quality brands. Or if one comes with a bundled game you'd rather have :)

I just got my EVGA 8800GT Superclocked on Wed. I love it. It plays CoD4 flawlessly with everything turned up. Like they said before though I don't know that there is going to be much difference between companies. As far as them being in stock, I got mine from Newegg. They have an autonotify when one becomes avalible, they send you an email. I got the email, went to their site. Sure enough they had them in stock and I ordered it instantly. (I still checked everyday though) My Evga 8800GT came with Quake Wars. I haven't seen any other bundles.

Edit: Just remembered I set it up to auto notify me again because I want a second one for SLI. I got an email on Thurs. saying it was in. I haven't ordered another yet though. Just thought it help knowing they got stock in on thursday.

get the cheapest one and slap a 3rd party cooler on it then clock it up

thats a possibility:

anyone ever heard of these?

im buying mine through ebay, and its gonna be an evga b/c they cover warranty if its not open boxed, and registered within 90days of purchase. and when a suitable 3rd party cooler that i like comes out im gonna get that

I fancy it'll go for more than a normal etailer. Strange place ebay..

It's only £165 + postage for the asus on ST..which comes with a 15 quid game.

lol its chinese, imo i wouldn't trust it even though most of the cards come from there, its just an off brand.

Looks a good deal, considering Novatech's delivery is free (right now anyway) and they offer a free collection service, which, considering your in Leeds isn't that useful. However it's only 10 minutes from my home proper :)

EDIT: Says they get them in stock the day Crysis is released, so could be a contractual thingy with the games release..

I was hoping EVGA would release a ACS3 one, double slot like their other cards like that.

Dont like that cooler one bit. The sparkle one with dual cooling fans looks nice too though.

Will probably just go with the cheap EGVA one and add a 3rd party cooler. HR03 gt is too big so ill probably go with one of those metal heatsinks and zalman vf1000.
