8600gt

I've got an 8600GT, but now when I install drivers I'm getting a BSOD straight away.

Where's the fault, is it to do with the card or to do with the software?

I'm using windows XP.

Thanks,

Max

Couple of things could be amiss, what drivers are you using? What your power supply? Does the card work in any other systems?

Reckon it may be the drivers mate, I think everyone at some time has had an issue or two there :)

I'mn using the latest drivers and I've tried the drivers from the disk which came with it.

The powersupply is an old one (I'm waiting for the new one) but it's still 400W.

I haven't tried it in other systems, but because it works without drivers I assume it's okay.

What drivers should I try?

Righto, I was going to suggest trying an old stable driver but if that's not playing ball..

Is your operating system install fresh? If not what previous cards have you used with it?

This thread may help if you think you've got leftover drivers on the system still: Clicky

I've installed the drivers (I think) but when I scroll down a page it sort of loads the page new every time (so the scrolling isn't smooth). Is there any way to get rid of this?

EDIT: I've tested it in another PC and the same thing happens and there are similar faults. This is down to the graphics card :(

Reboot, I get it when I swapped between an 8800gts and 9600gt. Windows seems to sort itself out.

That or it could be a power thing. Remember about the amps as well.
