8600GT time to get one

hi guys i just got 2 options 8600gt fatal1ty xfx or 8600gt MSI oc, i know the xfx is a bit better, but is $30.....should i pay that difference i should a i get the msi and buy 512 more ram?

i would save the 30 and spend it on a cooler for the gpu and overclock it into a 8800 gts spech

Its NEVER gonna be as fast as an 8800GTS.. its a different chip completely... ide save the $30.. not gonna see all that much difference really..

if with air cooling and basic volt mod you can hit 900/1200 then with out the volt mod on air it should hit the gts mark and sorry did i say gts try gtx even

Yes but the 8600 isnt going to get anywhere near the 8800GTS never mind GTX in real world applications or benchmarks.. its a MID RANGE CARD.

The 8600 is a mid-range card.. the 8800's are higher end cards.. the 8600 will get to 8600GTS speeds but no where near 8800, i think you are confused?

So ill buy that MSI card, hope it will good enough, i read lot of reviews about both cards and that lil difference isnt worth those $30 so i better save them i can buy another switch too

I know its a mid range i cant afford a better card, actually i was planing to buy the 8400 but theres a huge difference between those. There was another option a 7600 but this 8600 with ddr3 is a nice option (to my pocket)

8600GT is still a mid-range card thuis the extra memory will make no difference whatsoever

Yeh, was a good buy. I have no idea what this guy is on about getting the 8600GT to 8800GTS speeds :S maybe you can reach the clock speeds but you arent going to get anywhere near the peformance.

The 8600GT is a great card for its price you wont regret it..
