Assassin's Creed Empire has been listed with a Q4 2017 release date

I kinda feel like even two years between releases can't get rid of the AC fatigue. Assassin's Creed is one of the most overrated games. People still flock in droves to play the same thing with just different model architecture and NPC attire. Assassin's Creed is basically a demo of historic architecture.

How deep into the ground can we run this franchise? Only yesterday i figured out that the movie has already been released and apparently even that is set up for a sequel.

I read that the movie's main goal was to publicise the game further. It's not a creative ensemble working together towards a complete product; it's a manufacturing plant posing as a craft.

Have not even played 1 of them.... and I have like 3 assasin creed games in my library. Maybe I should give it a try and see whats all the fuss about.

As much as we dislike ubisoft policy for pushing out unfinished products. The AC series are actually enjoyable in my opinion AC III and AC Black flag were outstanding. Must admit though, I have unity and syndicate in my library and still not tried them. Just haven't had the time, but I'm sure I will enjoy them just like the others.

I don't like AC games because they are just a poor remake of the legendary Prince of Persia games (Sands of Time, Warrior Within and Two Towers). Jumping, running over the walls, climbing... Imagine if AC had the same game mechanics as PoP. When you actually need to press buttons for jumps. Holding one button and watch him jump around is just dumbing down. When Dahaka starts to chase you, and you need to work your controls hard to escape. In AC you just hold one button and he jumps over everything.

I am actually quite p.off by dumbing down of the games in general. Mass Effect epic story line, infinite choices that impact everything ahead, bla, bla, bla... What choices? You have 3 conversation options (good, neutral, evil). In Baldur's Gate you had 18 choices for 1 response. 18! I have a screenshot somewhere. That was the proper story telling.

I don't want to sound like hater (which i am not). I enjoyed playing AC games. Graphics are very nice. But whenever i go to the roofs (which is 90% of the game) i can't get rid of the thought "God how much better it would be if it were like Prince of Persia." And that at the end just leaves you with nah... experience after the game. And it could be so much more...

I have to say, I've never heard anyone say AC III was outstanding. :p That's generally one of the more hated from the series. It was the one that proved AC was really tiring despite having such a unique setting.

I guess its personal opinion. I for one loved history on Indian Tribes, red coats and the whole frontier era. Maybe that is why I found it pleasant. AC3 did push the limits on graphics at the time too around about the GTX680 release period.

That's what I mean about AC becoming a history lesson rather than a game. Each title is little more than a novel look at various different eras. The graphics are stunning, the architecture is accurate and the culture is rich, but the game still has loads of bugs, has terrible story, is really demanding, and has the same gameplay issues it's always had. And each time you have to pay €60 and download a 60GB file to play it. They feel more like expansions than whole games.

They also decided to skip quality control on that one, buggy as hell.
I haven't finished any AC after Brotherhood, none of the ones i tried were terrible, but the gameplay doesn't really get any better, they just add stupid gimmicks to it. Especially the combat has gotten less fun. The story is never all that great, so you end up playing it for the world alone. AC games i pick up for $10 a year after release and that's about what they are worth really.
