nvidia hasnt even raised there green flag yet amd is coming in full swing with its next king of the hill. We now have it confirmed that amd will be releasing the new king pen, in april though there is no exact date just the beggining of april. Hey wasnt the 6990 relased in april of last year?

Doesn't really matter imho, the dual-gpu cards have always been in a different league than the high-end single-gpu cards (i.e. HD7970 / GTX680). Even if it hurts the sales of the GTX680 a bit, it will hurt those of the 7970 aswell. Also, isn't the NV dual-gpu card rumoured to come in May? They're not too far behind.. yet. To me, it's all about who has the best price/performance ratio, not who has the fastest card. And I can tell you right now that you'll have to sell a few vital organs before you can afford this baby ;')

I'm definitely not a fanboy. In fact, I've owned an equal number of AMD and NV cards.

It's just unfair to compare the 7990 with the GTX680, when they're obviously in a different league. Also, I do not think a month between the release of the dual gpu NV and dual gpu AMD card is a lot. Unlike a lot of other people on this forum, and evidently you are one of them, I do not condemn a card before I've seen rock solid evidence of its sub-par performance.
