hard drives for over £100. what is special about them??

There are plenty of HDD for over £100

Raptors here are about £120 for the 74GB version. Whats special is they run at 10,000RPM :yumyum:

IMO, the Raptors are 100% worth the expenditure. They're the only 10k RPM SATA hard drives that offer 4ms seek times. I run 2 of them in RAID 0 and omfg they are so fast, i'd say it cut 5 seconds off of my OS load time, and games and apps seem to load instantaneously.

It's one of those things you dont really think about when you upgrade your computer when you notice that it's not quite as fast as you want it... You first think of ram and cpu, but after spending the money on both and you still don't see the increase you're looking for, it usually lies in your craptastic hd that you cheaped out on because you thought it didn't matter :)

Get a Rapter, or get two, and then be happy like me! :D

A 7200 rpm WD hdd is fine for me. I could get 2 160gb for less than a raptor 74gb. my load times are fine and gaining a second on css map loads and a couple seconds on sp games isn't really worth it for me.

I guess it really boils down to how deep your pockets are, lol.

My favorite pb manufacturer is based out of Australia... Perhaps you've heard of them, Mac Developments or MacDev for short?
