now i think -25 on a abit -ic7-max 3 is good

because the temp r a bit higher than they should.

whats ppl temps here in motherboard monitor on a abit -ic7-max 3.

Yeah, it is colder in West Yorks today aint it :p

Do you believe -72°C anyway?

no way you got it that low heehe...i mean its way off mate :)

My GT and Mach 2 never reached -60 idle hehe :p

in fact

@ 1.75V(stable) and cpu @ ~4.2ghz i get like -50C with fans on normal

@ same Vcore and 4ghz i get idle of -55C with the front mach 2 cover removed...

Cpu temps are idle -40C well it reports -112 :p thats because the sensor is maxxed...hehe

i never got that low evap temps...but my cpu temps look great...

u sure u got good contact there?

PS: any updates with your asus XT?

re temp

contact must be good running 24/7

3.2 overclocked to 4249 mhz 1.82 volts extreme edition.

not going to strip it doing well.

no condensation in 3 weeks now.

looks like i have done a good job installing it.

Did you post piccies of your build as I've same mobo as U and I know some folks have had moisture issues? Di U use conf coat or grease or anything?

not using anything

just 1 lot of seal string

and 2 extra washers on each head screws.

what temp r u getting in motherboard monitor.

on ur ic7-max 3

I've not even had my mobo out of box cos I'm waiting 4 my GT and modded case from Phil! So literal answer would be about 20°C today! I'll post once the hardware all arrives, assuming I don't mess up

Dazboots did you have to modify the cpu kit for the IC7-MAX3 at all? I've had a few problems getting it to sit flush (contact problems).

hi m8 i had to put a couple of extra washers on both thread springs.

this made better contact on the cpu, hope this helps........;)

The fitting kit does usually need modifying to get a good contact on a max3,You need to get the head 1mm closer to cpu,by removing 1mm from all 4 feet of the front plastic bracket,or wedging bits of cable-tie or credit card in the mounting slots on metal plate,or place a 1mm shim between the cpu and prommie head.

eeer y wudnt he be able to hit -72 on his GT? My stock Mach2 running on my P4 3.4EE has gone down to -57 before. I have evidence of this and will show you later when I get it off my phone.

Daz I thought you wer on AMD?? You gone back?

The further past -50 deg C that you get on any MachII, the greater the drift of the sensor. The sensors themselves are only rated down to -50 deg C. Running them colder just means they get more and more inaccurate. Colder it gets the greater the level of inaccuracy in the temp reported by the sensor as the resistance changes become too small to be converted accurately.

The standard MachII controller is set (normally) to trip out when it gets colder than -80 (this may have been changed in recent firmware or on recent controller revisions - we discovered the -80 trip point about 8 months ago), just like the MachI controller trips out when it gets colder than -50... any temps colder than -68 usually mean the sensor has futzed itself cos of the cold and is just displaying whatever it feels like displaying rather than anything remotely useable.

Well the -82 I got actualy went down to -90 and that was because of a faulty mach2 board not sensor as I tested the board in another unit with working sensor

My best is -73°C idle with a P4 3.4EE @ 4.4 Ghz and ~1.90V....:p

Temp is shown as -105°C (anything under -25 is shown as that on my IC7-G as well) both in windows and in the bios even, so I'm quite sure the temp is really low. Dually prime is around -8°C on the IC7-G, on the Asus P4C800E it was -24°C..... so quite a difference between boards there. Same cpu, same Vcore, same Mach II GT.
