680's down to £240. Bargain or too old?

Hi there guys, some of the online shops have 2 different 680's down to just £240. This seems like a bargain to me but I just wondered if its too good to be true. Its definitely there to be had and in stock but I was wondering if there were any know problems with these 680's hence being cheaper then the next 680's by a considerable £48. The two cards in question are the MSI GeForce GTX 680 Twin Frozr OC and the ASUS GeForce GTX 680 DirectCU II OC.

What do the people in the know think?

Double post! please use the edit button!

those seem to be quite cheap for those cards.
those cards are last generation, definately not what i'd consider to be too old

Links would be helpful for those whom would like to purchase.

As what Watsyer said, it'll be interesting to see the links as it could be deals by dodgy companies, such as WAE+.

Sorry I dont know who WAE+ is or the reason for the sigh. Must be an internal joke lol.

Sorry guys. They are both on scan. TTL gave the MSI a silver award at £470 wonder what he would give it now now its down to £240. I know you can get a 770 for £320ish but the equivalent msi frozr on is a massive £120 more and I dont think that the frozr 3 either. Starting to sway towards the MSI definitely.

Ouch sorry to hear that. Shame you didnt buy with a credit card but you wasnt to know. I dont even own one so if a company ever went bust on me I would be screwed. Hope you sort it out mate.

S'ok, dude. My own fault really. Although, it doesn't make it any easier to swallow lol.

Well I really hope it sorts itself out dude. Anyway I bought the msi one. Absolutely cant wait. Gonna be a big upgrade from my msi 7850 lol

That's a good deal dude. Remember that the 770 is a 680 underneath so technically it's not entirely even last generation.

Soooo... Would that possibly support the theory of flashing to be a 770? It wouldn't quite be as easy as that, but I remember turning my old 8800GT into a quadro card a few years ago.

Tbh I wont be touching it. I know this is overclockers but I personally will be putting it in and leaving it to hopefully be quiet.

Cool! I'm saving for the 770 but I might just go for this instead. Is that a good idea or would anyone advise otherwise?

Chris

680 at £240 is too good a deal to turn down in my opinion. If you're considering SLI 680 being cheaper than a single 780, then maybe it's a no-brainer.

I've been looking at upgrading to a 7950 for ~£200 give or take.....and now I'm aware of these 680's my budget will need increasing.....(again)

GTX680 at that price is a steal

Looking at the facts it does seem like this is a good deal. The 770 looks about 10-15% better on the benches but the 770 is about 30-40% more expensive then the price of these beautys.

No I can't afford to sli. I wish I could! I was considering the 780 a while ago but realistly I was dreaming. 770 is more in reach but still a lot of money. I was wonderng if the 680 would more or less perform like the 770 as I heard they're essentially the same thing.

Edit: I forgot to add that I want to watercool. This is the main reason I can't afford to go sli. Them blocks are ridiculous money! Even if they are shiny haha

Are you going to overclock then?

I missed your previous post. That seems good to me.
Is this question directed at me? If so yes I don't mind overclocking. Extra performance for free seems like an obvious decision :p
Having said that I didn't know what I was doing with my current card so I just turned everything up to the max. It ran awesome for a while. But now it messes up in games unless I have it set to stock :(
