this is my first amd build and want to see what people thing and what I could change

cpu amd fx-6300
mobo msi 970 gaming
ram gskill Ripjaws X Series
hdd Seagate barracuda 1tb
gpu msi r9 280x 3gb twin frozr
psu corsair rm 550
optical drive Pioneer BDR-209DBK
case Sharkoon T9 Value Red Edition

Why have you got 2 different GPUs?

Erm... He's not. The MSI 970 Gaming is a motherboard, not a card ;)

I'd recommend a 860k over the FX6300, because its more gaming focused being a quad core. Get a comparable motherboard and you are good. Also get a WD Blue instead of the Seagate drive.

Lesson learnt. Dont reply to threads before the sun is up.

The build is decent however I would recommend trying to push for an ssd if you can. 240Gb ssds are super cheap recently, as I belive the hard disk will be the only thing making the rig feel slow. However if budget is super tight then fair enough

Its all good mate ;)

Yeah, an SSD would be a good idea. I'd go for the Crucial MX100 256 GB as it has good performance at a killer price.

This is my attempt. I don't know if you wanted windows with it or not so I added it in. The 860K will be as fast as the fx 6300 in almost all the games. I also presumed you'd be overclocking as well.

I can second that, bought one myself late last year and its fantastic. Boot times are so fast too, the majority of the time when the Windows flag comes up, the spinner does even show before I get to the lock screen (Windows 8).

Always first into a match on Advanced Warfare too, although whether thats help of fibre as well I don't know?

It would be preferable going for the 285 instead because AMD magicians did some architectural improvements to the older chip, and they give you true audio, better memory handling bridgeless CFX, better efficiency.

If you are looking for gaming features on the motherboard you should consider Asrock's Fatal1ty FM2+ A88X version OR Asus A88X Gamer

The 285 pushes the budget over and isn't really worth the extra.
