5.1 speaker suggestion

I have my confirmation coming up and will get some extra money and i really want 5.1 speakers. I was looking at two in particular

If you have any suggestions they would be appreciated.

I own the Logitech Z-5500 speakers and run them with my creative x-fi sound card and the sound quality is awesome.

I dont know what the 2 you listed would be like but if they are anything like the Z-5500 's then they are well worth the money

the 540 has the same specs as the 530 i have and is pretty decent but nothing extreme.

I'm gonna use the onboard sound so i'm not gonna expect anything great but i want decent surround sound.

Go with cheaper speakers and an SB Live 24-Bit or something similar in price.

A friend of mine has the z5300e and they rock, they get deafeningly loud and I can't say enough good things about them. :wavey: another Catholic

I want to get the x-540 they are the same thing but they look a little different and are newer.

I think out of the two sets, the x-540 has the best satellites, that would be my choice between the two.

But owning the Z-5500's, I must say they freakin' dominate.

i find that creative speakers are always a good buy, ive got 5.1 upstairs but they come with a digital decoder (basically a soundcard) and i have another creative set on my pc (4.1 inspire something)

cant comment on the logitech other than my friend had a bass problem - sub kept hitting the grill with hardly any bass coming through
