Heres a direct comparison between the z77 and x79 platform.
The 3770k at 4.9ghz vs. 3930k at 5.125ghz.
The 2400mhz ram on the z77 vs 1000mhz on the x79.Some of you will notice i only have 4gb dual channel on the x79 mobo, but quad vs dual in this benchmark has little to none difference in the outcome.
Timings in this benchmark is a big deal,the 2400mhz TridentX at 10-12-12-30-1T @ 1.65v vs. dominators 1600mhz oc`ed to 2000mhz 8-9-8-23-1T @ 1.65v.Its raw bandwith(mhz) vs. timings(speed).
Next picture will show some minor differences in gpu-score.The z77 score is a mere 150p ahead, close to margin of error in the benchmark, but i must add to this that i saw up to 10fps higher peaks at some measure points i have learned to trust. The cpu-score is way higher on the x79 due to the cpu-benchmarks in vantage utilizes all cores/threads.
43082p on the z77 and 47901p on the x79 isnt that big a difference as we have noticed between the cpu-scores,nearly 15000p diffence there.Next time i have my 3770k at subzero temps ill try vantage .You`ll have two screenshots later, one at 4.5ghz and 2nd at 4.9ghz with the 3770k.It scales well i think. ^_^
But its nowhere close to the 3930k,the scaling there is far bigger, but that will have to wait until i have acces to the screenshots from my x79 setup.
Next pictures only shows i have used same settings if someone did questioned that.
Now the two screenshots, first one at 4.5ghz,next at 4.9ghz.
Conclusion will be that the 3770k need some serious 5.5ghz+ to match the 3930k at 5.125ghz in 3dm-vantage,but the 3770k it did match the gpu-score at 225mhz lower speed.
I have thought a long time to make a thread like this, but now was the right time to do this.
Hope it will help anyone new to benchmarking to make some good 3dmark vantage scores on hwbot ^_^
What do you think guys? Anyone up for a challenge?
