3500 @ 2.64ghz stable!

I'm quite pleased with this so far after the initial disappointemnt of two 939 motherboards that were below par.

Managed to get 2.64ghz stable (240x11) with my lowly 3500 @ 1.7v on water. It's good enough for 26299 3dmarks, which is my best score yet. Pics will follow. I'm using a customised Mountain Mods silver case, with LRWW watercooling on the cpu - the Ultra is currently on air @ 461/1.17

Nice work there chiefo, bet it's damned quick at that speed! Hopefully i'll be able to do similar when I eventually hit the A64 scene under my Mach I....will need to build my own CPUkit though lol.

Nice going Phil, what memory speed you got there as I think you should be above my score at 2.6 Ghz and with an Ultra?

Nice one there Phil. Can't wait to get this FX53 going in about a week ana half. See what havock I can cause then hehe. Now come the choice, 6800U or X800XT, o the choices the choices. Nice going matey.

Spot on mate, thats exactly what is holding me back - its this damn board, it wont run my BH5 @ 200DDR! I have to underclock it to get anywhere. So I'm running my memory @ 188DDR at the moment.

Thats weird, Im using OCZ 4000 Gold in mine and it goes to 265 1.1 :D

Although the timings are 2.5 4 4 7 it still gives a nice boost.

Its the problem with the board though, hopefully it will get fixed in a bios update.

these socket 939 mobos are annoying me no end - I've yet to buy one as they all seem pretty pants, im waiting on the neo2 or dfi

Hence the reason I'm waiting for them to mature a little. I had a funny feeling they were gonna be below what we expected of them so I stayed clear and plan to until next year now I think.

Hope you guys get the issues sorted tho :)

I reckon you're better off with neither mate....I know you're a PS3 fan...almost much as you are a watercooling fan....so why not grab yourself a BFG 6800GT, get one of those DangerDen 6800 chipset/ram cooling jobs and overclock it....the BFG's are already OC'd but i'm sure it'd easily go to Ultra speeds if not beyond. Saved yerself £100 and a molex if you do that!

Hey big Phil have you got a gigabyte K8NSNXP -939 mobo ?? I am getting one on wednesday and slappen my brand new fx 53 in it :D still debaiting gcard so?? may have to use my fx5900 of gf4 mx 440 if i flog my 5900 off but I have seen a thread for the mods on this board if you are interested ??

Als I have a question if I put the ocz memory booster in my board it wont damage my cpu will it ????

phil mate..i can see you got some interesting gear...

i was too thinking of the 3500+ and the first nf 3 939 the giga since the cpu has come down in price....

try and get hold of some CH 5 ram....they rock with NF 3 mate...BH 5 seems to cause probs with the NF 3 ;)

I've got a horrid feeling Phil it's not a problem with the board.. I know my 3200+ ClawHammer wouldn't even post with my 512MB stick of Corsair 3500.... summat to do with the On-Die Memory Controller not liking the sticks :(

I'm hoping this isn't the case though as I've just bought in a load of memory for testing purposes with my FX53... and an OCZ Power Booster as well ;)

The memory I will be testing will be:

Corsair 3500XMS

Kingston HyperX 3000

Kingston HyperX 3500

OCZ Plat. L. E. 3500

let us know how you get on tc as I was looking at upgrading my memory but not sure what too just yet I was looking at the cheapo ADATA stuff but not sure??

I tested some of the ADATA Vitesse stuff when it first came out on my 1st A64 rig.... although timings were 8,4,4,3... it allowed me to hit the limit of my board... which I think at the time was about 237... that was only because it was a VIA chipset with no locks :( ...... but that was without a voltage bump... so we're talking 2.6v :D

Hmmm nice I have seen a few good reviews about it however the timmings are slack but they are supposed to hit 250 - 260 at stock voltages so???

You'd probably still be better off with some shiny OCZ EB... that stuff has been reported to hit 260-270 with 2.85v and at 8, 2, 2, 3.... :D

Yeah its just I am a tight little so and so and dont have as much cash as dazz lol so I was going for the cheaper option but if these nforce 3 mobo's like the ch-5 chips with the ocz voltage booster I might get more than 220 out of my ram fingers crossed or I know the guy selling Brwmogazos old 3700 could get that??

Yes mate but why skimp on the GT at Ultra speeds when I can have the Ultra at over ultra speeds??? Water and possibly pelt the 6800U and push the baby to the max.
