I have an IIyama 27" 120ghz led scrren which is super but recently I have been looking at maybe changing to 3 x 22" screens. I only do a bit of gaming on BO2 and watch films and browse on my machine . Is it really worth it ? I have been looking at some of the 3 screen setups and some look good and others look pretty bad.

Was looking at 3 x lg full hd screens .

3 screens is great for multitasking with email, internet, music or whatever...
In gaming, it's more for epeen than a practical use. On CoD, you won't really see any benefit because it just stretches a 1920x1080 screen to 5760x1080, rather than actually going to that resolution, making it unplayable on 3 screens.

I love my triple monitors. But I barely play games anymore. I tend to watch films, or TV on one screen, then internet or whatever across the other 2 and i find that so easy to manage across 3.

For gaming, I'd probably say a single, bigger, higher resolution screen would be better than triple screens. Triple screens just surrounds you in the game a little more, but you only look at the middle monitor so it doesn't really make any difference what the others do.

Maybe get a second monitor for multi tasking, and keep the one you have for gaming? And just keep with a dual screen set up. Although I do think multi-screen setups look stupid unless you have identical screens - and it'd be a bit of a waste to get a second 120hz if you're only using that for multitasking.

It's up to you really. What GPU(s) do you have?

I went from 1 screen to 3x mutpli monitor and i never want to go back !
browsing mutiple forums is fun...........

Hope this helps you a little
Greetings, Ray.......

I think it depends on what type of gaming your into. 3x Screens for games like DIRT is pretty cool. 3x Screens on Battlefield and crysis - not a fan.
I like it for RTS but i normally only use 2x screens for that.

Plus you need to make sure you have the desk room.

I would see if you can find someones eyefinity setup (or nvidia alternative) to have a play on before you part with your money. I see it as more as a novelty for gaming.

However.
Three screens for general use and productivity is superb. Going from 2 screens to one is hard, going from three to one is no fun atall.

I might invest in another screen as sometimes as i browse the internet and have programs running, it sounds much better to do things.

For gaming im not sure if i could get used to multi screens as it might mess me up gaming :)

Is it off putting playing a FPS? Like to much to look at and having the split between each screen or is it easy to pick up and get used to?

No...

As I said, you don't even look at the two side screens. They just surround you a bit. It's pretty much the same as single screen gaming, just with a little extra sense of being more immersed in the game.

It isn't really worth it for gaming IMO but it is a cool thing to have :) For multitasking, yeah, it probably is worth it. I love my three screens, but I barely even play games anymore.

Just ask yourself if you really can justify spending that money to feel a little more surrounded by games.

I would have to say that gaming across three monitor is something i was hesitant on doing for a while as the cost was high, but also whether i really needed to.

I then decided to build myself a new computer just for gaming, no bloteware, and just stick the games, as such I got myself a GTX590 and decided that gaming across three monitors is something i'd really like to do.

Now let me be honest, gaming across three monitors (again my opinion) is great, and once you've gamed with three, you could never go back to the single monitor, as it just feels, as if you're missing out on something on the other 2 side monitors.

With that said, even when gaming you don't tend to even look at the other 2 monitors on the sides, it just gives you a more immersive feeling while gaming, and adds that little extra to your gaming experience, but again you don't tend to keep looking at them.

My experience with games such as BF3 over 3 monitors has been great, and has in some occasion saved my bacon, where i was able to see the enemy just in the corner of my eye, in one of the side monitors.

If you're looking at increasing your gaming experience, I would definitely go for it. If you're a casually gamer, and browse website more than anything, then running across three monitor, might not be the best thing, and you could spend the money on extra ram or a new graphics card or something.

I hope this helps,

I create a few videos a very long time ago about one of my computers. I hope these give you a little insight.

All the best mate, and happy gaming!

Not worth for it games.. unless you have 4 :P

I can't get used to having all my screens occupied by the same thing; I have to be able to see the OC3D forum at all times! :D

I have a gtx 670 power edition. My screen at the min is a belting screen with awesome picture and a very good size (27"). The 3 screens looks impressive but thats only on videos n things I have seen I dont actually know anyone with a multi screen setup so thats why I popped it up here for opinions from folks who have used and are using multi.

I would prefer a bigger, 120hz, higher rez display to 3x lesser screens...
Triple screens seems abit gimmicky, unless you play racing games :)

One 1440p or 1600p monitor over three 1080p monitors for gaming any day. As stated earlier in the thread 3 screens is more of an e-peen thing. I'd only go with multiple screens if I needed them for multitasking, like serious editing work etc.

Cheers for the input guys think I will stick to what I got for a while longer and maybe get a higher res at some stage. Cheers all
