well what can i say i am amazed before i modded this vapo max oc was 3.4

and as you can now see it is pulling a 3.7

this is good news for me as i now know i do not have a buggy 57 0530

-68c on the DT200/ -18c in the bios/ 402a /NL11F

i only had an hour with it

before i had to go out but will give it some tomorrow

it is more of a relief that it will be ok for the ln2

fatty as it was my first gas i did spend along time tunning it
 
Yeah benches would be sweet the twin to mine mcmad has and his did 3750 straight off the bat mine tops at 3600 I think stable at 3570 well not done 3d mark yet only cpc

The DT200 says -63 in the pic tho, did you mean the display temp on the Vapo is -68 and -18 in bios? Just curious about that. If you can tune a single stage to -68 evap while running in bios I'll be VERY impressed :O

The Vapo's only real downfall was the compressor and once the NL11F's in there it really starts to cook. The evap isn't bad either, not quite as good as Chilly's but still a lot better than the Mach stock head for sure.

That '57 is giving some serious results so far, I look forward to the benchies mate, and if it's not got a cold bug now, some LN2 might get you some seriously impressive bench results :D

the pic is one i had when i was gasing the first time the vapo display is now disconected only the DT

all in all i spent 5 hours putting gas in then letting it out while hooked up to fx55

waiting 10 mins between adjustments i had the 55 running @ 3.2 the hole time

it has a chilly1 evap on there now i have got around the temp problem with the compressor by having both fans running all the time with an ambiant of 10c

as for benching it will come down as you no but a good start

it will be hooked up to a gtx when the ln2 comes to town

*edit* gray just to clear up what i was saying -68 is no load the 3.7 was @-55 load and the -18 in bios was idle

Ah I see what you mean.

Just some stuff to watch out for...

402a isn't 100% compatible with POE oil. It's got a small R290 component to it, but it's not really enough to carry that oil as well as it should, so over time you could end up with oil gathering in the system. I'd recommend a little extra R290. It doesn't take very much, I only add a squirt or 2 but that guarantee's no future oil issues.

When you tune really lean, you don't get a lot of cold vapor return. In the short term it's not a big deal, but air cooling isn't really enough with 402a, especially under load, and you can get the compressor running REALLY hot when loading for longer times. If you tune it for between 10 and 20c of superheat on the suction (2-3 inches back from the suction entrance to the compressor, and assuming say, -65 is the actual evaporating temperature of the 402a at no load if you're at about 10inHG Low side pressure, give or take as I don't have my P/T chart to hand) then that would be about -45 to -55 measured on the return. Then you're pretty much at the max charge or close to it that you can give, and will match up pretty close to what the captube is designed to give. Then you'll get the 200w or whatever the cap is tuned for, and also get a decent amount of cooling for the compressor.

I only say that, cos 402a is HOT. High pressure and high temp on the discharge, and if you don't give the compressor all the cooling it needs, it can eat your compressor over time so it's a good idea. Fatty's 210w tuning actually gives it a tiny bit of liquid return at no load, and as long as you run a load on it, it's getting even better cooling and that's what makes the compressor last.

If you want to tune to lower loads, say about 180w which is likely all you'll ever pull from that cpu under load and a little extra, it would be good to lengthen the captube for that capacity, and use the same tuning procedure to match it, whatever the Low pressure is, work out the evaporating temperature, and tune the charge to about that 10-20c superheat at no load. Then you'll be tuning the system to spec, and getting better temps.

It's just what I've picked up over time, as I've been working the 402a for a while now, and while the temps aren't quite as good as running a lower charge, you can count on it lasting for a lot longer. That's been my biggest worry for modding units for other ppl. If it's your own it's not as crucial I suppose but I'd still hate to see you get any grief on that count.

Anyways though, if this is your first system, I'm quite impressed with your result, but it looks like you've done what most of the big guys are doing with the Vapo's and the results are fantastic. I'ts really good to see UK guys doing phase and doing it well. :D
