3.5" HDD adapter

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a dual 3.5" to 5.25" bay HDD adapter, to fit my 2 3.5" WD HDDs up in the dual bay slots in my Fractal Design Arc Mini R2.

Seems like most of the PC shops I shop at here in Sweden, don't really have them.

Any ideas on where to get one or do you have any other recommendations/tips?

Thanks,
Chrazey

Do you mean dual 3.5" to single 5.25"?

I've never seen them, I'm not sure they exist. You could just get two sets of 3.5>5.25 Scythe Bay Rafters though, but it will fill up two 5.25" slots.

There are also units available that take up four 5.25" slots and then give you five 3.5" bays in return, but I'm pretty sure your case couldn't fit this, and you can also see them through the front of the case and tend to look shit.

Edit; I'll reply to that GTX970 PM later sorry! I didn't realize there was one I hadn't replied to yet.
Edit2; Sorry to be a bother but I can't seem to find it back. Would you mind sending it again and I'll reply ASAP.

... ehrm... I mean, I have 2 slots for 2 optical drives in my case and would like to get an adapter to install atleast 2 Wester Digital's in there, 3 if possible, but highly doubt it :P... not sure about those 3.5, 5.25 etc... messes with my head xD

Yeah, pretty sure it wouldn't fit since the case is quite small overall :P (that's what she said :P)... and yes, I like the clean look of the covers on the chassi, as they are part of the case. Hence the adapters, to just hide the HDD behind the covers :)

Edit2: Hehe, no worries dude :p... so much for the extended inbox haha!
But just sent it again, it should be in your inbox! ;)

No problem, I have the 4 in 3 version, been running solid since September.

But is it like a "standard" then?... as my case, the Fractal design arc mini R2 is a bit smaller than most, so may be a bit smaller in those bays and might not fit.

The bays are a standard width and height so that won't be a concern. The only dimension you'd have to worry about is the length. So the 3 in 2 bays should work for you as long as it's not too long. The dimensions should be listed on the product page then you'd just need to measure for clearance in your case.

I have a pair of the sas version of that icydock backplane in my server. Fits, perfectly in standard 5.25" bays. (although wedging the second one in was quite a tight fit)

The are quite deep with the fan in place, but that is removable on my one.

Cool... so they lit up blue led?... is there a way to still keep the front cover of the chassi and still have these behind it?, as I like the front picece in one shape :)

Don't think so as they are hot swap bays. The startech rails I posted earlier were designed to work like you want, but obviously you only get one drive per 5.25" bay rather than being able to squeeze a third in.
