2990WX and Zenith Extreme

Hi all, hopefully someone can advise me on what is best here?
I have a Zenith Extreme with a 1950x and a Monoblock covering both.
After watching TTL's msi board video I'm thinking of upgrading to the msi board, would the issues of temps on the Zenith being mitigated by the monoblock offset the need for replacing the board as the temps wouldn't be as much of an issue?
I'm looking to get a 2990wx.

Interesting question. ASUS themselves say that their upgraded cooling kit is designed for overclocking, so the board should be fine at stock settings for the 2990WX.

I don't see why the EK monoblock wouldn't provide enough cooling for the VRMs, though the secondary heatsink from ASUS' X399 upgrade kit would likely come in handy. That section isn't covered by the mono block.

Its only an issue with manual clocks. Water would sort any issues there anyways.

If you leave it to boost itself its fine on air

After all the comments on here, I've decided too keep it. Means can go 2080ti instead of just a 2080 without the missus complaining :D

So I take it that your PC is a home workstation that you also game on?

If you plan on overclocking the 2990WX I would advise getting the ASUS upgrade kit, even though you have a CPU/Mobo monoblock. ASUS is adding that secondary SOC heatsink for a reason, so it may be worth it for you in the long run.

ASUS did specify that it was for overclocking, so you should be fine if the CPU will be at stock. Hopefully the image below will help explain. The kit should release soon and be relatively cheap, much cheaper than a board change.

Its mostly for work stuff but game a bit on it.
I didn't know could buy that kit. I will pick it up as I will most likely overclock at some stage.
