2600K Overclock

I've been doing some testing on my friends 2600K to see how it overclocks compared to mine... I have it at 4.5Ghz with a voltage of 1.26, ran prime95 for several hours with no problems and the temperatures maxed at 58 degrees!

Is it just me or is that VERY good?!

What are the average voltages and temperatures for a 2600K at 4.5Ghz?

It is well known that these cpu's can do 4,5ghz at 1.25-1.35v, so i believe you. Very lucky with that chip

nice wonder if I can get mine lower lol I should be able to just left it at where it was when I backed down from 4.7 well didnt just leave it forgot to lower and its stuck lmao here goes a try

So I tried raising the voltage to 1.4 and figured I would set the multiplier as high as I could get it to go before it failed to boot up.

As of now, its 5400Mhz at 1.4v.

JUST started Prime95 and already ran into an error. Will lower the multiplier and try again.

I took a screenshot to show my temps. Im thinking they are pretty good; although my room is freezing so that helps.

THATS A VERY GOOD CHIP BRO i HAD TO PUSH 1.6VOLTS TO GET MINE STABLE AT 5.3ghZ

edit damn caps lock lol been playing BF3 to lazy to edit it proper

Test ended up failing eventually so it wasn't stable at 5.4 with 1.4 Volts. Tried it at 5.3 with 1.4 and has been running for about 2 hours and has no problem. Hoping it won't fail.

hmm, thats a weird bugger huh, it boots into windows at 5.4ghz 1.4V stable but doesnt pass prime. Until droped to 5.0? Idk but thats just funny to me, but VERY interesting that it posts 5.4 with only 1.4V play with it some more, and then tell me what you get. I might be buying a chip off of you for some extra cash (;

Haha no no. 5.4 was not stable. It blue screened after a couple minutes. Even without prime, just running an app.

I don't want to take it over 1.4 volts though. I'm afraid.

1.4 volts is nothing for playing. FOr 24.7 use i wouldnt touch it because the life span of the chip will decrease but play with it. Atleast push 1.45 and see what you can get.
