2500k Overclock

My 2500k use to run fine with an overclock at 4.6GHz but recently I've noticed a decrease in performance to see that it's maxing out at 3995.3MHz as shown here:

Anyone know why this is happening? Is there something in the BIOs I need to fix/change?

goodness.. an ecs board, haven't seen those alot lol

i am not familiar with the bios.. but make sure to increase cpu current to a big number or else it will cap once it hits that number.

Would be helpful if you could post the settings you see and are using in bios

or maybe you change your multi? make sure you manually apply 46 multi in bios. (maybe need voltage bump for full stability.. just stress test and see)

cheers

reading your thread mate it does sound like its bios revision related and i would have a test with older and newer versions.

have you tried to put it under heavy load with prime95 or anything like that to see if its a power saving setting thats giving you 4 when you set 4.6?

Tried Prime95 and it still stuck at 3.9 and I disable the power saving settings and still getting 3.9

I could just swap it for a new board but I don't really want to take a to the store and then drive a hour back.

Tired that and nothing seemed to have changed.

I read that the B2 versions of the board overclock just find but info for the B3 is hardly anywhere and never mention overclocking.
