24" widescreens?

Im considering upgrading to a 24" widescreen over my current 20" and giving it to my dad - But im not sure what to buy. I love my 2005 FPW, but sadly, theres a lot of issues with the newer 2007 and 2407 FPW's....I could try to find a secondhand or used 2405, but I dont know if I want to do that.

What else is good in that size range?

Hopefully my x800XT PE can run the damn 2405 well....It works fine for the 2005 , but I will be running a higher res with the 24. Any other dealer recommendations?

I'm thinking the same thing. I live in Canada so if you find a place that sells them to the states I will check it out and pick one up also

Newegg not do em? Dell themselves are pretty cheap in the US imo

Dell doesnt sell the 2405 anymore, only the 2407...which has a lot of color banding issues.

Dell do next day business pickup-return warranty so you just keep sending 'em back till yours is ok

Aye, and hope that you get one that's not too bad off, still RMA it, and they let you keep it. Much like what Kemp did and my cousin ended up getting a free 2005 this way so now he's rocking a dual monitor setup for the cost of one.

Still, most people who have compared the two say the 2405 is a much, much nicer monitor...no HDCP though. I have a hard choice here, arg

edit: After reading more user reviews ive decided definately against the 2407 - Now the problem is, where can I get a 2405? I cant even find one on ebay.....

edit2: Im looking at the new acer 24" (theres 2, the newer of the two) and the samsung 244T...so far im really leaning toward the acer ( I just wish it was black, not silver..)
