2 monitors 6870 not working

I have an amd 6870 and I wanted to extend my 1080p monitor's desktop onto the envision 900p monitors (something around that) and whenever i try to do anything to mess with the displays it says "this operation is not supported based on current display configuration." and i tried using ati ccc and using the iwndows settings and no matter what I do I cannot get it to extend. My brother got it to work using 2 3850s but my 6870 cant do it. THen i looked and realized I have yet to see someone with a setup of different sized monitors with 1 video card, is this the problem?

also I am planning on getting 3 (exact same monitors) and setting up eyefinity with 2 6870s in the near future...will i continue to have problems similar to this?

you also have to enable hydravision and/or create an Eyefinity group

different resolutions will only become a problem is GPU scaling / Overscan is enabled in CCC

Just want too point out that i'm using two monitors on my main rig with different resolutions. One is 1920*1200 and the other is 1600*1050. I was easily able too set them up through the standard windows options. I'm using a hd5870. I've used loads of sysmtems with different resolutions on dual setups and never had a problem, but I wouldnt know why its not working.

I dont want eyefinity I wanted to extend my desktop. eyefinity makes it show up as 1 monitor I dont want to do that until i have 3 monitors because then I would have to make all my games run in windows so that they wont extend to the other monitor. gpu scaling/overscan?

oh i see. I have it set to overscan but I didnt put the check mark for the thing under it, should I do that?

overscan should be off

then right-click on one of the monitor icons (where it shows you how many are connected)

there you should have the options to make primary, secondary, clone, extend, etc...
