Hi guys, for some reason I'm getting a 1M superpi time of 1minute and three seconds with my X2 at 2.2Ghz and one 1GB stick of ballistix at 2-2-2-5-1T running 1:1 with the cpu and I can't work out why? Nothing is running in the background and the memory tighting are tight. I'm not running dual channel but it shouldn't effect the time this much.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks.

Try BIOS 618-3

Seems to be unusual, of course it could be that your CPU is throttling under load? U can turn this off in the BIOS too (providing ur happy with the temps).

Is the cooler seated properly?

Maybe one core is overheating?

Surprised u let it run the course if it was that slow.

Of course it could be an issue with the dual core and superpi - try the multithreaded patch version (dont ask me where to get it from coz I dont know).

is your x2 overclocked?

i found that when i overclocked my venice to 2.4 from 1.8 at stock volts i would get a super pi of 35~ any further over 2.4 resulted in super long super pi times ie 1m + ... had to increase volts by 0.2v to get a time sub 35secs

I'm using BIOS 618-3. My X2 isn't overclocked and would appear to be seated correctly as I'm getting 35C under load. Really can't work this one out...

Thanks for that Mav mate, will have a ganders now. Doing a lot of BIOS flashing today!

Right I'm now getting 40 second in a 1m super-pi run. Is this about right with 11x200, single channel 3-3-3-8 ?

Sounds like it.

I got about 36 or 37 at stock speed, 2-3-3-6 memory and 32 at 10x260 on a 333 divider.
