1080 vs 1080ti?

Hi All, this may seem like a silly question but I am looking at 2 graphics cards, the ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080, I can afford either and want to get the 1080ti but am confused by the specs as the 1080 Ti is better in every way apart from clock speed, the 1080Ti in 1480mhz and the 1080 is 1657mhz will this make the 1080 faster and give higher frame rates even at 1440P?

1080ti is way better even though the clocks arnt as high.

The 1080 have 2560 cores running at 1657mhz
The 1080 ti have 3584 cores running at 1480mhz

Get a good cooler/water and you can hit 1900-2000mhz on the 1080ti some even 2100mhz.

Clock speeds may be lower on the 1080Ti, but that is countered by the fact that it has over 1000 more CUDA cores.

Both will overclock to similar speeds if that is your thing.
