AMD Launches ATI Radeon HD Family

Yes the cards have officially been launched today, but only one will be available for purchase - the Radeon HD 2900 XT. The 2900 XTX has been delayed again and the lower spec HD 2600 and 2400 versions will be available mid-year.

Ye review will be coming next week somewhen.

ATI have gone for the price/bundle road with this one and I think they're waiting till they can spin out some thinner silicon before they release the beast

Yep agreed! I think XTX will receive the 65nm treatment as the 2900 XT is definitely a toasty little bugger too. The 2900 XT pricing is definitely the sweetener here, even though it's not the faster card. It certainly overclocks well though.

i just checked the review on other sites aswell. and the 8800gts 640mb is neck and neck with it, and beating it by 1-5 fps in certain well most games.

and the GTS also consumes alot less watts, making it the better of the two in my books.

Nvidia FTW!

But hopefully this will be some good competition between them!

The 8800gts better get more fps, becuase i have just gone out and bought one, hopefully if and when i overclock it it will prove to be a better buy than a 2900xt.
