It could be worse

Compared to the RX480 i think the prices are fairly reasonable. I couldnt afford one myself yet perhaps in a year

The RX 480 was around £200-250 on release and only went down from there. The 6600XT has almost doubled since then for a similar tiered card. AMD is taking the micky. Prices for parts have increased since then, but by 80-100%?

If the performance matched (ideally beat) the price increase then fair enough. But it didn't. Just like the 3060/ti the value is terrible. In the US we're paying almost $400 for 1080p performance. Just dreadful. We used to pay $200.

All brands are guilty of the pricing so not a single GPU is value for money atm.

But the scalpers made it so easy for the brands to charge more, can hardly blame them they are not a charity, even at retail they are way above where they should be going back to the start of all this.

The days of a midrange being £200 are long gone that's more likely to be the 3050 and 6500 than anything else and even then it'll likely be a fair chunk more.

To be honest the prices are cheaper than i expected and i'm thinking the cheapest model from Sapphire would be a good replacement for my dead GTX 1080 from a folding point of view and playing the odd game now and then.
