AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Review

The flagship of the RDNA2 cards is the RX 6900 XT. Naturally after the success of the RX 6800 launch we can't wait to find out how good the 6900 XT is.

Talking Nice looking card

I really like how the 6800 series look.

They look like pro cards, no bells, whistles or blinky LEDs. Its been a while since I really liked an AMD reference card design.

Great review Tom !

Other people have said in their review that they think something is wrong on the driver and/or firmware side, A card with a fair chunk more under the hood should perform better, Not match a lower tier card or just slightly edge it out in certain titles, Unless RDNA2 really doesn't scale well like AMD said in the past and there are diminishing returns beyond a certain CU count.

There's diminishing returns for overclocks as well. Hitting 2.8Ghz is nice, but it only introduces a little extra performance.

When the Asus Strix 6900 XT LC turns up it will be a beast because of the AIO unit it comes with.

Overclocking works well providing you keep the thing cool, failing that it is a case of diminishing returns because of throttling.

The only whining sound you get these days with EVGA cards is people complaining that they can not get their hands on one.

In the last 12 months EVGA have gone from being one of the best AIB partners to one of the worst.

Why one of the worst?

AMD's comeback looks good!

Looks to me like it's time to switch back to AMD graphics

Let's see how the water block scene will look first though...

What use is EVGA to anyone outside USA/Canada if they can not buy the better cards like the 3090 Kingpin.

By the time the above hits the rest of the world it will be almost EOL.

Worse still there was a time when EVGA reps took an interest in customers outside North America, now they are invisible.

Manufacturers should treat customers in all areas the same.

The biggest joke for me is that to be able to buy the Kingpin 3090 you need to be an Elite member of the EVGA forums which is obtainable by buying their GPUs. I am an Elite member and have bought more GPUs from them than nearly any other forum member (30+) yet I still can not buy a Kingpin because I live in Europe.
