Nvidia's limited edition RTX 2080 Ti Cyberpunk 2077 Edition has sold for £5,000

Honestly... Only one word I use to describe scalpers, begins with c, and rhymes with hunt.

Shame to the people paying that much but considering they were competition prizes I think Nvidia should have put in place a term where you cannot sell the GPU, meaning only people who would want one of those would able to enter.

They probably did, but since when has any one cared about that? I've bought most of my ES from Ebay lol.

Most of the people who win competitions are serial entrants any way, and sell their prizes.

One born every minute.

Well, if you can afford it and really want it... That said, I'd never spend that much money on a graphics card, even if it is limited edition.

Yeah, it is a shame that so many of these cards went to people who don't appreciate them. That said, £5,000 is a lot of money.

I'm not sure how enforceable such a term is.

Well it's mostly been proven that limited edition hardware is never worth anything. Kinda like Fallout collectables.

Well.. perhaps its gone to someone who will frame it in a glass case and never use it? who are we to judge. If they have limitless cash then good for them.

I could understand if the game had come out and was as good as we've been told. Right now? it's vaporware. Bit risky. I mean, I felt proper stupid for paying £175 for FO76 lol.

Part of me wants to see somebody post this on the "Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase" thread. haha.

You could have known tho, its Bethesda, they make buggy games :P As for that video card going for 5k, i mean all power to them who is willing to pay such a insane price for just a paint job!

A fool and their money are easily parted.

No way those cards are worth even 1/2 of that

Buggy I can deal with. Nearly all PC games, even the greats, are and were buggy.

Downright crap on the other hand?

Try not to think about the game itself. That's irrelevant. Think the fact that only 200 of these will ever exist. That alone pumps up the value.

A lesser example.

My Sabertooth Z97 Sabranco (white model) sold last month for 3000kroners. I paid 1200 for it. 10,000 were made, but well I guess its the feeling of exclusitivity that makes the cost.

I'd be sad if its a person who bought the gpu would abuse it, and toss away next gen. But if they are the kind like some of you guys, to box it, frame it, make it into a display. Then respect!

Even with your Fallout stuff. To put that in a display case, never to be touch would be pretty cool looking. Who cares if the game was terrible beyond comprehension.

Yeah I think some PC parts are not for using, unless your PC itself is a showcase. Obviously there is that risk the game ends up falling way short on launch and getting a bad rep, but to be honest it will probably have a group of die hard fans either way even if very small, and this card would still be a relatively cool memento of the pre-launch hype I guess, as like a historical item.
