Amazon's going to lower its Prime Video bitrates to help telecoms deal with demand

I see people complaining about this and how the streaming services should charge them less or whatever for the lower quality. The problem is if the internet went out with how over-reactive people are, they would panic and cause mass riots and whatnot. So yeah, if the ISPs need help, they should get it to prevent that.

Yeah, it is better to have lower quality video than to have no video.

Netflix cut their bandwidth by 25%, which means that roughly four people can now watch Netflix instead of three with the same bandwidth usage. As Tesco say, every little helps.
