Anthem RTX/DLSS PC Performance Review

Is DLSS worth it in Anthem? Are Nvidia's 40% claims legit?

Read more about the performance/graphical impact on DLSS in Anthem.

I much prefer the dlss on for this game. And that performance increase is quite insane tbh

Strangely I've had no difference in performance on High @ 1440p with a 2080. Game hovers around 80-90 FPS regardless of DLSS being on or off.

Maybe your CPU is bottlenecking. Which CPU do you have?

That makes sense. With the GTX 2060, we saw a much smaller increase in performance than at 4K, and with the RTX 2080 the gap is likely to be smaller.

The problem with DLSS is that the Tensor cores can only handle a certain number of frames every second at specific resolutions. So the lower the framerate, the higher the performance boost. At least this is how it appears to work from my end.

Nvidia said once fps reaches a certain limit the GPU will stop doing DLSS regardless of the settings in the game. Seems like it can only handle 60fps roughly and after that it shuts off

Ah, that makes sense but disappointing none the less.

Yeah it's IPC isn't fast enough to handle the calculations once your GPU core is able to reach higher FPS. Just another reason for people to avoid this gen. So many "but" scenarios imo that goes along with this tech. Although if you're happy with the purchase can't fault you. Each person has different wants

I keep having issues with lighting and reflections flickering the second I turn on dlss in anthem. With 2080ti's at 4k is is a bit of a bump to performance but the strobe light effect makes it unplayable.

Wait, Skylake's? The highest IPC on the market?
