AMD's rumoured to release 7nm Navi 12 GPU in mid-2019

It feels somewhat unlike AMD to be so tight-lipped. I could be wrong.

Osborne effect. AMD's probably planning to peddle 12nm cards for at least another 6 months. Neither AMD nor NVidia will be in any rush to get consumer 7nm cards on market and I'm sure both would much rather do it after yields have improved and risks reduced, and if both AMD & NVidia's architectural improvements for the next gen include relatively mature and efficient support for DirectML and DXR then that information could make any current gen card from either vendor seem redundant to many buyers, which isn't great when you've still got planned upcoming 12nm product launches.
