Amazon listing for Intel i9-9900K for $582.50 revealed

Oh...oh my. That is HIDEOUSLY ugly.

I get what they were going for with the box, but man that is just tacky looking especially if they are trying to "one-up" AMDs threadripper boxing (which was beautifully done).

Just...No no no.

The box is ugly and the price WOW!

It's a big fat NO NO NO for me!

For that money I would rather go Threadripper, in my editing machine and move the Ryzen 7 to my main machine!

WOW, this really proves that Intel have no clue what to do now that they have competition. They're peeing all over themselves like an over-excited dog, just to keep up with AMD, even in "pretty CPU box" terms now. LOL!

I think my stomach just turned a little. It looks so cheap, nasty and too pompous for what it is. I know ThreadRipper's packaging is a bit extravagant but this is just over the top.

That price had me howling though, waaaay too low

I could understand if it was a 9 sided polygon but it's not.. so it's just stupid. What were they thinking?

You could have made it the normal box that it's always been with an RGB strip in it for show and it would have been better than this

Buy it, throw away the packaging, stop complaining ;)

Agree, don’t get why people are moaning about the packaging? It’s the content inside that is the important stuff. It’s not a shroud for like a car, it’s just a box that holds a CPU.

I bet that most people in here put their CPU retail box in the box where all your other PC hardware is, no?...

No wonder the loot drops in Destiny Forsaken have been dire of late! Bungie has clearly been working with Intel on new engrams.

hah if Loot is no longer dropping more rain in UK, i might pick it up. Hated how easy loot was to get.

For that price they can keep it, Switching back over to AMD next year for the 3000 series anyway.

What's your current CPU if one might ask? I decided to stick with my i7 7700K. For a PC that's only really being used for gaming, upgrading this is just plain silly. This CPU can lasts for years with the 1440p resolution I'm gaming in.

8700K @ 5GHz, Great chip but I'll want to play around with AMD's new stuff when they release their 3700X or whatever they call it :)
