Why?

Why the hell do they need $1m to create a mirrored version of their current mouse? Just mirror mold it, it really isn't that hard, seems more like a money milker to me.

Guess it's a pretty good way to gauge geniune interest. If they made a Facebook poll, I'm sure a lot of people would say they wanted the left handed version but not actually buy it.

Actually opposite way around.

Trolls would purposely vote against left handers because its Razer. So with a kickstarter you will get legit and genuine interest as opposed to a survey/poll.

What a pathetic attempt to reduce the risk of running a business. How can someone trust a company that is risk-averse to such a comically hilarious degree? Either make a leftie mouse or don't. But don't hide behind a freakin' Kickstarter like you're a start-up corporation that can't afford to create an experimental product. This is such a shi**y move.

Just because they are a company like they are doesnt mean 1 failed product wont ruin them.

Tesla will be officially bankrupt end of this year if they don't improve their sales. It's not a guesstimate. Its an actual fact. No company is safe from a poor product.

I don't see a problem with a kickstarter. Backers could even suggest improvements. I would do the same if i had a company. Game developers close entire studios over a poor product launch. Thats hundreds of jobs at risk. I may not like Razer, they may be over priced, but if it means reducing lay offs for the greedy shareholders to which Razer have no control over, then kickstarter all the way.

I don't think it's a bad idea it gives them a real feel for the interest in a left hand 1, as the article says they have been making left hand mice at a loss for a while and I'm going to bet it's not a cheap process to make new mould's get the machinery to run it redesign the electronics. But I'm surprised they are bothering if they make a loss on what they already make and a market for the Trinity I would think is small

I'm lefthanded and can attest the market is small. I always end up with ambidextrous mice, also because lefthanded models come at a premium. Weird way to raise funds though, just make the darn thing.
