Nvidia's DDR4-powered GT 1030 GPU is an abomination

Been trying to find 2 comparable cards on one site.
Scan has these priced @ £2 cheaper than the GDDR5 models, BARGIN!
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigabyte-geforce-gt-1030-ddr4-2gb-pci-e-low-profile-graphics-card
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/gig...phics-card-384-core-1227mhz-gpu-1468mhz-boost

Feel sorry for anyone that gets one of these without knowing the difference. Really bad move Nvidia, should have called it the 1020GT or just 1030.

Or...better idea...how about NVIDIA I don't know...NOT make this disgrace of a graphic card. There is essentially no reason behind even making this gpu in the first place.

The DDR5 version (which actually works for an extremely tight budget) is the same price here in the states or maybe $1-2 cheaper. I just don't understand the point or why NVIDIA would bother thinking this would bring them any profit when the DDR5 version is almost exactly the same price and performs leaps and bounds better.

I think they're literally banking on people being too dumb to notice. No one who understands GPU's will buy it. But there's plenty of people who don't know the difference. That's easy money for Nvidia. They are scam artists, after all.

OEM's may snatch up a lot of these, selling there prebuilt systems with a "1030 GT". They probably wont declare whether they are the DDR4 or GDDR5 incase it affects sales. Its just a shame it has come to this, it would be nice to get an official statement from Nvidia about this card.
