It makes sense.

After all, consoles are often sold at a loss. Sony and MS make their money back from software, microtransactions and accessories.

Well that was the old generation at launch. This generation that rule didn't apply and they indeed did make money and profit

Remember that older console generations used what was considered cutting-edge hardware that the time of their respective launches, whereas the Xbox One and PS4 were both regarded as mid-range gaming PCs at the time.

Most estimates put Sony and Microsoft as either breaking even or making a profit at the time of their respective launches this generation. This gen kinda threw that concept out of the window.

I'll never sub to any game streaming service, If the hardware and game aren't infront of me then my money stays with me.
