Well "rumours" are that Metro Exodus has been pushed back to 2019 Q3 so it'll probably be ready for the 1180 Ti

Aye, that's the official word on it. Dice said "rumours" are that it'll actually release Q3 instead. I can't wait that long

My XP is going nowhere.

I can already call it now. When Metro comes out the actual RT effects will be so hard to notice it will be like when Dirt 2 came out. It will take a massive performance hit too, and there will be hardly any difference. In fact, some one hacked Dirt 2 and made loads of the lighting effects that DX11 was supposedly doing work on DX10.

I doubt that will happen here, but tbh? until RT becomes the be all and end all I am not interested.

Nvidia have deliberately slowed down the GPU market, and games just don't need all of that power. Recently I built up a rig from spare parts (bought a 10 core 2.5ghz Xeon and put my Fury X in) and I have been ripping up FC5 at 2560x1600 with no issues at all. I guess it is not smashing VRAM so it has been fine and I have played it for 20hrs with no issues at all.

So if I take that, and then consider I have a TXP running 2560x1440 (or 4k DSR) then I just feel "What's the effing point?".

I am interested in RT, but only when the game is ground up RT. Like the whole damn thing. Until then? just not interested at all really.

*walks into a room* "Oh look at this lovely lamp I have that is RT. How amazing"

I think not.

Q3 for NVidia finishes at the end of October, so a paper launch then and actual cards available end of November?
