Bethesda releases Fallout 76 teaser trailer

It's that or Sim City 8000 and either way they can shove it. I *hate* building in FO4 it is the worst part of the game.

^ yup 100% this. I did it for the vault expansion they had in F4 just to get the achievements and then left it forever. Built the bare minimum of items needed to get the relevant achievements.

Sanctuary looks the same as when I first entered it after the bombs fell.... lol. I maybe took a tree or two down in there just to move around a little easier. Built 1 or 2 turrets for fun but otherwise forget building anything.

I felt the same first time round. A few mods this time round and I found it alot better.
I do hope this is a successor though apposed to a spinoff

I've done bugger all in Sanctuary either. Well, apart from the teleport thing but I've scrapped that now. I tried building the old bag a chair but it never seems to be the right one.

It really was the worst decision ever. In FO3 you could make weapons from blueprints. And I loved two of them (Nuka grenades for albino rad scorpions and those really tough ghouls, and the dart gun for Raiders. God that is just the best when you stick one from about 300ft and then listen as they die lmao). They got rid of all that for 5 years and up Minecraft crap. Imbeciles.

I enjoyed the settlement stuff more than the rest of the game.. lol. Then again, I'm not a huge fallout fan and scouring the baron lands isn't that entertaining for me.

I managed to enjoy the settlement building in Fallout 4. I felt that done right it really supported the Survival playstyle I tended to go for. I hope there's still elements of that in future installments alongside everything else that makes Fallout great.

totally agree with you.

Lets face it, FO when done right can cater for different styles of play.

Well I certainly consider myself proven wrong when I expected a Fallout 3 remaster.

I wonder whether this will get a Switch release since Bethesda have already shown interest with the Skyrim release. I hope so, I might actually buy it then

Oh yeah, horses for courses and all that. I really hope some one remakes Fallout 3. My fave game ever. It just seemed to get everything right (for me).

It's a RUST clone set in Fallout universe. There was a leak from an "insider" last year that stated that exactly, along with the correct name of the game. Since they got the name right, I'm going to assume that they weren't lying about the nature of the game either.

I'm hearing it's both... It's not for me either.

D'you know it's absolutely horrible what Bethesda have done.

When I bought one of my FO3 collector eds (the lunchbox/bobblehead) I got a blu ray (I bought that one for the PS3, gave the game away and shoved a Windows one in it) that was like a documentary. In it Todd Howard says, verbatim.. "Now it was ours". So basically he took control of the brand and Interplay got basically sued away from it. So you would think he would do the right thing, given the game brand was so important. But no. This game has all of the potential to basically kill the name and destroy it completely.

I could understand if the man needed cash. You know? a bit skint, borrowing from a payday loan shark. But he's a millionaire many times over, so why?

I know that Bethesda are pretty much pwned by Zenimax, who seem to be a lot like EA. IE - let's take a fantastic game brand and franchise and then run it into the dirt for cash.

IDK man. This saddens me greatly. I desperately wanted to see a remake of FO3. But I guess they are too busy making money to actually give AF and do what is right for their loyal fans.

Fallout is a game 100% based on a lone wanderer. Why they are trying to make it mass market and MMO or whatever else is lost on me. Why? why not just make a new game name up and bring out your crappy game under that name? why abuse the Fallout name just to rake in a few quid?

Seriously when Bethesda released FO3 I would have gladly kissed their arse and begged at their feet. Now? it just seems like all of the real, caring, dedicated game creators are gone. Sat in a air conditioned office somewhere being barked at by some middle aged t-wat in a suit and under deadlines. It's very sad, as Cacktivision and E-gay have always been like that. Bethesda used to be a breath of fresh air, now they are a stale fart.

Honestly? I think I am actually insulted by this. And I think that deep down I was insulted with FO4 too. Why would I want to play a Fallout game to play Minecraft? surely I could just download Minecraft for f-all and build away?

And Fallout VR? pah, don't even get me started. A game that can suck you in for 12 hours solid (or more if you are younger than I) and you have to do it all standing up waving your arms around. People have been begging for controller support, nothing has arrived. I just don't have the back to be able to play it.

My fallout history is short: played and liked 3 and new Vegas, made the mistake of buying 4 which I found a boring cash grab. I feel your pain AlienALX.

Well having had time to sleep on it and think it over I have calmed down a little. It's still totally not for me, but from what I have been seeing it's apparently similar to RUST and DAYZ etc. I still don't want to play it but in all fairness "Fallout online" as we used to call games that you played online back then has been a very very long time coming. Like 20 years almost. And each time they released a Fallout game I would be expecting it to follow only for nothing.

IIRC this is what Interplay tried to keep, but got it battered out of their hands by Bethesda. Apparently when Beth took over Fallout there was a clause in the contract to say that they could not make an online Fallout game, so what better way to do it than in court. Even though the terms were pretty clear. *sighs*

So yeah, this will dun be that. And whilst I am totally not interested in it at all* at least it caters to those who have been patiently waiting for it for over a decade.

* I can not play these sorts of games. Ones like WOW etc. Serious, if you think I am bad with BMX and PCs due to my autistic obsession then a game like that could literally end my life. So I need to play it very carefully, and avoid anything too addictive. So yeah, abstinence is the order of the day.

I'll be able to take it or leave it, Tried FO3, NV and FO4 and after putting 10 hours into each one they did nothing for me.

Saw on Kitguru that sources are saying this will be a multiplayer survival game. Might be a good choice given the model popularity these days.

DayZ/Rust.

It's Fallout online, basically. That is why I have changed my stance a little from yesterday, and instead of being angry I had to accept that millions out there will be desperate for an online Fallout game.

Just not me. However, the world does not revolve around I :)
