I would say this is pretty cool for a portable system as well. Even for a nice ITX system on the go.

It's awesome, but does it work over HDMI? apologies for not reading the entire article, but if it's USB C only they are missing a trick.

I have a 7" HDMI screen and I use it *loads* for testing. It is USB powered, so requires nothing but a HDMI cable. So awesome for testing as you are building etc.

It doesn't say in the article, only mentions USB-C.

On the AOC website it say for connections only usb-c

USB-C to HDMI leads are fairly inexpensive and easy to acquire.
