MSI and AMD may be preparing "Combat Crate" gaming bundles

A Ryzen/Radeon Gaming bundle for new system builders.

Combat Crate, i'm sure Msi thought that one up, their marketing and naming is awful!

I like the idea, however like the full freedom of choice better.

Quick update. The first Combat Crate bundle is online on Amazon US.

https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Combat-gr...7d07bcf87&th=1

$599 for a Ryzen 5 1600, an MSI B350 Tomahawk and an RX 580 Armor OC. Pretty much the same price as everything separately in the US.

It's a little too late, my guess, it was a get cards to gamers not miners strategy - miners wouldn't want to buy mobo/chip every time with a card.

Yes but its also more convenient to buy as one pack. Perhaps you buy CPU, MObo, but get stuck with availability on the GPU (thank you miners ).

It's a good idea, but not sure if it will be a massive success to your typical regular upgrader. Maybe to newcomers building their first machine, it could be appetising.

They will need to be careful in the EU. The box states "All you need to game" when it clearly isn't.

Yeah whilst that may work in the USA I highly doubt it will wash with the EU. You know what the Germans are like...
