Pricing is dodgy, $117 for the i3 8100 and they are gonna charge nearly double for the 8300, makes no logic.

Well AUD vs UK as the link vs current prices
8700k at 560 AUD vs 324£ = 57%
8700 466 AUD vs 280£ = 60%
8600k 395 AUD vs 233£ = 59%
8400 270 AUD vs 154£ = 57%

That would put the 8500 and 8600 at aprox = 170£ and 190£

8300 has hyper threading, making it 4c/8t.

No, it won't. The 8350K doesn't have hyperthreading. No reason why the 8300 will.
