The Ecosystem started a while ago. MS is just trying to jump the early to become the standard.

IBM, Google, D-Wave, Intel, Alibaba are some of the other companies working on quantum computing one way or the other.

From what I gathered we should be able to see very interesting stuff in the next decade.
