Intel Core i7 8700K and i5 8400 benchmarks leak

Wasn't it suppose to be announced right around now?

Intel has revealed their 8th Generation Core CPUs, but only for mobile. Even then it is only the U-series sub-15W parts.

Lots of rumour sites took the announcement of Intel's 8th generation launch Event to mean Coffee Lake. It was a mobile only thing, as we suggested when Intel made revealed their event.

Coffee Lake will come later, how long? Who Knows.

Intel does

I think they'll be announced next month with availability October (effing pointless paper launches! I hate them). I, too, was dead set on August, until I saw the announcement. The reason I cannot wait is that several upcoming games I'd like to play on a HT CPU (assassin's creed origins, Wolfenstein, the dishonored expansion, a watch dogs 2 replay etc.). I might be looking at an even later purchase (November+) because the Netherlands is very good at extreme and lasting inflation and zero availability. And that, would seriously me off.

Many sites have stated that the desktop coffee lake cpus will be in stores late September.

I hope to get my hands on a 8700k so i can replace my 2700k system.

I have finished my mITX build, and it SUCKS. The airflow is terible, so the fans ramp up. Have tried everything, so i'm about to give up, and the buy a HUGE case :/
So the 8700k option have moved a lot closer.

ITX builds are a cute idea, and great for LAN party rigs, but yeah otherwise they generally suck, even with a custom loop. Told myself after my last ITX build "never again". You just can't stuff enough cooling into one of those builds. I had a pair of 240 rads in a Corsair Air 240 for a single CPU + GPU, still not enough for my tastes.

That has always been the issue with cooling. It needs space. Cramming it all in does not help.

Working on this Alienware has been a massive test of patience, because unless everything is 60 degrees you have no space. At all. And you can't really run a pump or res at 60 degrees because you know? water and gravity. So yeah, been a real sod.
