Not sure how I feel about this.
Those crap ones have to go somewhere and I bet they aren't being clear about those nor selling them at a discount since they are making profit on top of these ones.
I wouldn't be buying a regular CPU from them that's for sure with no chance of getting a "good"one.

The chips OCUK sell that aren't cherry picked are just your average run of the mill chips, You could get lucky and get an amazing clocker but these actual chips that overclock like crazy, OCUK buy specific batches from Intel and then speed bin them so you aren't getting a reject if you buy a standard chip, You're just getting one that hasn't been tested.

The 'rejects', for want of a better term, for Kaby Lake could be ones that top out at 4.8Ghz or 4.9Ghz. For a gaming chip—and let's face it that's all the i7 is good for these days—4.8 or 4.9Ghz is all you need. So, OK, you won't be able to hit 5.1Ghz or more, but you don't need to. 5.4Ghz is pointless. Your pushing enormous amounts of voltage into your CPU just for the sake of it. Performance will go up in all applications, but in gaming you'll be hitting a wall. And for the price of a 5.4Ghz 7740K I'd rather a Silicon Lottery 1700X or a 7800X.

Are people even buying kaby lake X? In my opinion it's the biggest waste of money Intel have released to date!!
Th boards cost as much as the chips if not more and are instantly crippled when you plug one of those waste of money cpu's into it. Honestly if you have or are seriously considering getting one you need your head examined

I'd say people who love overclocking might buy a 7740K. They might have the money for a higher end CPU, but prefer to hit those big frequency numbers with their custom loops. I'd wager it's a small market to say the least.
