Have folks seen Linus rant about this new range of Intel CPU's?

Nice one intel, you managed to ridicule yourselves trying to hit AMD who actually HAD an engineering sample of Threadripper.

Actually no not a new socket at all.

As for the source of this post, an Asus forum mod... Enough said... It could be true, however too much is treated as factual these days on the Internet. It's like Wikipedia out there

Watched Linus his video, yes. He has some points. Mine are:

Why Kaby Lake-X??
Why tim (I want to know the real reason regardless I accepted it)??
Prices could/should be more aggressive rather than arrogant.

Yes. It's his first video where he isn't saying bullcrap. How he plugs in 2 ads in one video, rant video, only he could manage to do so. That ticked me off.
But he has a lot of good points. Intel don't know what to do and look like a headless chicken running around trying to throw everything at AMD but none of it even makes sense for a coherent lineup of products.

This sure is the weirdest platform launch they ever did in my lifetime. And the thing is, it didn't have to be... At all!!

I would really like an open and honest debate with Intel but that's not going to happen is it.

Probably not. Many people are annoyed, motherboard companies included, with this launch from Intel. I'd say it might be a little biased

I wouldn't want to be a board vendor engineer this round alright ugh. Intel sure found a way to make something easy incredibly difficult and unconventional. It would have been better if there was only Skylake-X and all SKUs had 44 lanes. That and the use of tim seem to be causing the most commotion to me.
